This blog will serve as our weekly newsletter. We, as a 5th grade team, will update the newsletter weekly to include what your child will be learning, important dates, announcements, and more!

What We Are Learning this Week:

Math: Partial Quotients, Estimating Quotients, Long Division, MAP Testing

ELAR:  Genre study and Personal Narrative Writing 

Science: Properties of Matter Investigations (thermal conductivity, states of matter, mass, magnetism), MAP Testing

Social Studies: Early Explorers and Intro to Colonizing the Americas

Math: Multiplication Quiz (Schoology - 8/23/24)

ELAR:   Animal Personality (Schoology - 8/21/24)

Science: Properties of Matter Investigations (Discovery Ed & Notability)

Important Dates:

Monday, September 2nd: No School (Labor Day)

Thursday, September 5th:  Curriculum Night 

Wednesday-Friday, November 20th-22nd: Sky Ranch Field Trip

April 15th - Reading STAAR

April 22nd - Science STAAR

April 29th - Math STAAR

Dismissal Reminder:

We would like to remind you that all 3rd-5th grade students who do NOT have younger siblings should be dropped off and picked up at our cafeteria loop. This ensures both lines go smoothly and all students transition in a timely manner.

Mustang Express Pass:

Express passes go live Monday, Aug, 12th. Passes are a one-stop-shop for families to purchase a yearbook, field trip shirt, student activity fee and room parent fund. Passes will be available on AustinPTO.com 8/12- 9/13. $100 per pass.
