Note from our Nurse
Dear Austin Families, I wanted to take a moment to remind you of the district health policies. Keeping a sick child at home prevents the spread of disease in the school community and allows your child to rest and recover. Please use the following general guidelines when deciding if your child should stay home and when to return to school following an illness. Here is the link to CISD Health Guidelines https://www.coppellisd.com/page/health-attendance-guidelines As a friendly reminder, CISD policies state that a student must remain home if they have experienced the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:-Fever of 100.0 F or higher-Vomiting-Diarrhea
Please do not provide your child with over-the-counter medications or homeopathic medications in their backpacks. All medications need to be administered at home, or through the health clinic. If your child requires medication to keep their temperature below 100.0 F, please keep them home until they are fever free without medication. Please encourage your child to use good hand washing practices at home and at school. Thank you for helping us keep Austin a healthy and safe place for our students and staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach me via email at apsmith@coppellisd.com
Thank You,Amy Smith RN

Family Friday Lunches:
Exciting news! Starting Friday, October 4, we will host 9 family lunches before winter break. Our top priority is the safety and enjoyment of all our students and families. Join us as we create a warm and welcoming space for everyone to savor these special moments together!
- Each Friday, there will be openings for 18 students per grade level to have 1-2 visitors.
- Visitors will be limited to 1-2 per student. This will allow family visitors to sit in a separate section where they can visit with their student.
- Guests can register for 2 lunches before winter break.
- To reserve a place, one family member will complete this form, state his/her name as well as the name of the second guest lunching with the student(s).
- Please note the date of your reservation. While we try to send emails to remind you, it is not always possible.
